The getting-started wizard

Five short screens about your business preconfigure features, teams and regional settings.

Admins see the getting-started wizard at their first sign-in. Technicians never see it. The wizard asks five short things about your business and preconfigures the workspace from them.

The five screens

1

About you

Pick your business type (for example IT services / MSP, Internal IT department, Consulting & professional services or Trades & field service), the team size and whether your customers are businesses, private individuals or both.

2

Goals

Choose the outcomes you want, such as answering customer requests faster or billing every hour you work.

3

Region

Confirm the country, time zone and your language, which are detected from the browser, and choose the languages your customers use.

4

Channels

Say where requests arrive (Microsoft 365, Google, IMAP, Teams, WhatsApp, website chat, phone), your service hours and the tools you use today.

5

Company

Enter the legal name, address, VAT number and IBAN. This screen is optional; Skip this step defers it.

The wizard ends on the Ready screen. It shows the teams that will be created and three or four next steps.

What your answers set up

  • Business type: which features start visible, which teams are created, a few unpriced catalog services and the word the workspace uses for its work (an electrician has jobs, a consultancy cases, an internal IT desk requests).
  • Goals: which optional features start visible. Customers, contacts, sites, the knowledge base and reports are never hidden.
  • Country: week start, date and time format, currency and standard VAT rate. You can change them later on Settings → General.
  • Customer languages: the enabled languages, the default document language and a quote-template translation per language.
  • Channels: the matching mailbox and single sign-on cards are placed on the Integrations board, but not switched on. Both need an app registration that you do yourself.
  • Service hours: the expected hours per weekday under Settings → Time targets. No business-hours calendar for SLAs is created.
  • Tools: ticking We want to migrate data from this tool for a tool that has an importer tells RMM Labs that you want to import.

Sample data

Sample data is on by default: a few plainly named sample companies with a contact each, some tickets and a project. Sample records never count towards your plan and are never e-mailed. Remove them in one click with Remove sample data on the Settings landing page before you add real customers.

Skip for now is not final. Run the wizard again at any time with Run the setup wizard again on the Settings landing page; it opens with your current settings filled in. Teams and permission levels you changed by hand are kept.
